The acclaimed creative team of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo are about to launch their final Dark Knight collaboration through the upcoming DC Black Label title Batman: Last Knight on Earth. With the series a week from its release, the publisher has debuted an animated trailer for the anticipated miniseries.

Taking place in a post-apocalyptic alternate future for the DC Universe, the trailer teases the story as a motion comic, with Batman carrying a laughing Joker head in a lantern. The two traverse the wasteland, with Batman vowing to save the future by salving a mystery from the past.

In addition to a haggard, bearded Superman and what appears to be vicious ring-conjured created by Green Lantern, a glimpse of a mohawked Wonder Woman is briefly seen in this devastated world.

DC Comics launched its Black Label imprint in 2018, giving its top creators a greater degree of creative control in miniseries occurring outside of the DC Universe's main continuity. Judging by the trailer, Snyder and Capullo's final Batman story together is shaping up to be the darkest one they've ever crafted.
