Batman: Josh Gad Reveals If He's Playing The Penguin


After plenty of teasing, Josh Gad has finally put to rest the rumors that he will be playing Oswald Cobblepot, the Penguin in director Matt Reeves' The Batman.

Gad has fuelied rumors about laying the popular Batman villain since 2017. The actor also said that he'd like to appear as the character in Chris McKay's potential Nightwing film.

However, Gad took to Twitter to reveal that he would not be playing the Penguin in any official capacity, at least for the time being.

Gad replied to some fan art that depicted him as the Penguin with the caption, "Ok, seeing as I keep getting this question...as much as I have LOVED torturing you all with teasing you about the Penguin, I feel like it’s time to tell you...I’m NOT actually playing this character. But I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the fan art and the love."

There has been no official word on what villains will be appearing in will be appearing in Matt Reeves' The Batman, which is widely rumored to star Robert Pattinson as the Dark Knight. However, the Penguin, Catwoman, the Riddler, Two Face, Mad Hatter and Firefly have all been rumored to appear in the film.

The Batman is directed by Matt Reeves, who will also produce alongside Dylan Clark. The film is scheduled to be released on June 25, 2021.
