WARNING: The following contains spoilers for The Joker #3, by James Tynion IV, Guillem March, Arif Prianto and Tom Napolitano, on sale now.

Barbara Gordon has been extraordinarily busy lately, following her reclaiming the mantle of Oracle after the harrowing events of "Joker War." As she provides valuable support to the entire Bat-Family, employing her considerable technical skills, Oracle has decided to help her father, retired Police Commissioner Jim Gordon, as the former lawman becomes embroiled in his own extra-legal adventure involving the Joker. In providing support for her father, Joker #3 hints that Barbara may quietly be reassembling the Birds of Prey, a superhero team she previously helmed.

Jim had accepted an offer from a young woman named Cressida to track down the Joker in Belize and kill him after "Joker War" and his suspected links to a deadly attack on Arkham Asylum angered the wrong people. Unbeknownst to Jim or even Batman, Cressida was in the employ of the Court of Owls who had grown tired of the Clown Prince of Crime's murderous antics and his past transgressions against them. As Jim departs for Belize, his daughter launches an investigation of her own while keeping her father under supervision. And in this investigation, Oracle has enlisted some familiar faces to look into Cressida and her true nature.

Oracle has Spoiler place trackers on the private jet taking Jim to Central America and one on Cressida's car, undetected, as she leaves the airstrip after escorting Jim to the plane and seeing him off. Back at Oracle's base of operations, Spoiler helps Barbara sort through the data they are receiving on Cressida and her benefactors while Cassandra Cain, having reclaimed the mantle of Batgirl for herself, quietly rides along Cressida's car as she maintains radio contact with Oracle. In addition to these three heroes working together, another longtime Bird of Prey has quietly made her own return to Gotham City, potentially setting the stage for a reunion with her old teammates in the very near future: Helena Bertinelli, the Huntress.

Huntress had kept a relatively low profile upon her return to Gotham but has since taken on a revenge mission after a woman she protected was brutally murdered in her own neighborhood. Helena is operating without the backup of the Bat-Family, who likely wouldn't condone her vendetta anyway, but with Oracle having eyes everywhere throughout Gotham, it's only a matter of time before her actions wind up on her former teammate's radar. When and if the team is eventually reunited, Huntress may have to make the choice of whether she wants to work with Oracle again and potentially spearhead the "Infinite Frontier" iteration of the Birds of Prey.

Right now, Barbara Gordon's biggest priority is to ensure her father stays safe as he's drawn into a dark web of murder and deceit secretly funded by the Court of Owls. The father-daughter duo have grown closer since the death of James Gordon, Jr. during "Joker War," with Gordon even admitting that he has known Barbara has quietly been a superhero for some time.

Fortunately for the Gordons, Oracle is not working alone, bringing in multiple heroes to help her keep tabs on her father and discover who Cressida really is. The immediate aftermath of this could foster the return of a fan-favorite DC team to help defend Gotham City and the wider DCU.
