Anticipation continues to build for "Elseworlds," the upcoming Arrowverse crossover event, and this weekend at Fan Fest San Jose, Arrow star Stephen Amell discussed the crossover, including a joke about the Bat Signal that fans won't be seeing.

Batwoman, played by Ruby Rose, will make her Arrowverse debut during the crossover, leading to our heroes' discovery of the Bat Signal. According to Amell, when the trio of title characters from Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), Arrow (Amell) and The Flash (Grant Gustin) originally encountered the Bat Signal, Amell's character wasn't impressed.

"There was a line that was cut, I think it was because I made fun of the Bat Signal," Amell said, according to Fan Fest. "Grant points to the Bat Signal and he goes, 'Huh?' and I go, 'So what? It’s a stupid signal.'"

Although exactly how Amell delivered the line is unknown, the way he tells it makes it sound like Arrow might be a little envious of the Caped Crusader. Although Batman won't appear in the crossover, a teaser for the crossover made it clear people do know about Batman, though he is regarded as an urban legend.

Why the joke was cut isn't clear, but a Batwoman spin-off is currently in development, so perhaps producers didn't want to make too many jokes at the expense of the character they are hoping will be their newest star.
