Much of DC Universe's animated Harley Quinn series has involved the eponymous antihero becoming her own villain after a break-up with the Joker. And while assembling her on crew of criminals, Harley has landed the most unlikely recruit of all: Batman.

In the teaser trailer for the first season finale, ominously titled "The Final Joke," we see Harley showing off her crew to the Joker. As Batman appears, the Clown Prince of Crime is overjoyed that Harley snagged the one thing he wanted the most but could never have himself.

Of course, not all is as it appears, as the apparent Dark Knight is actually Clayface in an elaborate, shape-shifting disguise, helping Harley fool her ex-boyfriend.

The promo ends with Harley and Joker caught in an explosive war against one another in the heart of Gotham City, with what appears to be the actual Batman leaping into the fray to confront his old foe face-to-face in what is sure to be a no-holds barred season finale.
