The comic book source material for Batman: Hush was written by Jeph Loeb, penciled by Jim Lee, inked by Scott Williams and colored by Alex Sinclair.  The story featured the never-before-seen eponymous villain Hush, who utilized Gotham villains in an effort to destroy Batman's crime-fighting career. Hush is viewed favorably by many comic book fans, largely because of its inclusion of Gotham's extensive Rogues Gallery and the Batman/Catwoman romantic subplot.

Batman: Hush ran from Batman issues #608 through #619, with the first issue releasing in December 2002. The story concluded in September 2003.
