The long-gestating film adaptation of The Flash will see Ezra Miller's Barry Allen traveling the Multiverse and encountering several different versions of DC's favorite heroes, including Batman. However, one iteration of the Caped Crusader is probably off the table.

Speaking with Empire magazine, George Clooney discussed if he had been approached for a role in The Flash. "It’s funny – you’ll notice they didn’t call me! Somehow I didn’t get that call," he said. "They did not ask for my nipples. Listen, there are certain things you never know. This one, I know."

Clooney portrayed the Dark Knight in Batman & Robin, the second Batman film directed by Joel Schumacher, replacing Batman Forever's Val Kilmer. The film was panned by critics and fans, with Clooney distancing himself from the role over the years.

The Flash has had a rocky road to production, with several screenwriters and directors boarding and departing the project. Currently, Andy Muschietti has settled into the director's seat. The film will also see Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton reprise their roles as their respective versions of the Dark Knight, as well as Miller sporting a sleeker new costume for his Scarlet Speedster.

Directed by Andy Muschietti with a script by Christina Hodson, The Flash stars Ezra Miller, Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck and Billy Crudup. The film arrives in theaters June 2, 2022.
