An announcement of interest to gamers who are fans of Batman has been faced with an unwelcome delay.The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) has been cancelled amid concerns surrounding the Coronavirus outbreak. While this is certainly not the only large-scale event to be cancelled or delayed because of Covid-19, it does leave a gaping hole in the video game community. Among other successful publishers like Ubisoft and Bethesda, Warner Bros. was set to host its first conference at E3 2020 and announce the comeback of Rocksteady, according to Gamerant. Moreover, Kotaku's Jason Schreier tweeted about Warner Bros.' prospective games."Warner Bros. Games was planning to do an E3 press conference this year for the first time, to talk about Batman, Harry Potter, and Rocksteady's game among others," Schreier announced. "Remains to be seen what they'll do now."

Rocksteady's previous Arkham titles have earned praise for their mixture of deep narratives, entertaining sandboxes, and invigorating combat mechanics. Although their unannounced project has been in development for many years, fans have been scouring the internet for any information on the highly-anticipated title.

Based on the limited information provided, it seems as if Rocksteady was working on the next installment in their Arkham franchise as well as a new mysterious IP. Fans will have to wait until Warner Bros. Games announces their next steps in the wake of E3's cancellation.
