Batman Fortnite Memory

As Batman investigates the extra-dimensional rift connecting Gotham City to the Fortnite Universe, he discovers that his usual gadgets aren't operating correctly, including his trusty grappling line. This leaves the Dark Knight with only his wits and the various weaponry on hand as he acclimates to the strange world that he has accidentally fallen into. In a not so subtle nod to Fortnite itself being a video game, Batman observes it feels as though his actions and those of his garish opponents appear to be controlled by an unseen force as the battle royale begins in earnest, with Harley Quinn and Catwoman among the familiar faces from Fortnite leaping into the fray.

As Batman descends into the Fortnite world, he finds he has lost the ability to speak, not unlike the other characters native to the world. And while Batman's keen, combat prowess and years of training are retained, Bruce Wayne loses memories of who he is back in his own universe. Upon catching sight of Catwoman in action, the two show a vague awareness that they knew each other and make a good team, but then both are trapped in the new world's seemingly endless cycle of chaos and conflict. And as the fight escalates, Batman realizes the only way to break the loop of each battle royale lays in the origins of the mysterious Zero Point on the island.

Batman and Catwoman fight in Fortnite

When Thor arrived in the Fortnite Universe, leading many of his fellow Marvel superheroes during last year's crossover Fortnite x Marvel: Nexus War - Thor, he retained many of his signature powers, and the ability to speak, but similarly found that his memories of his past life in the Marvel Universe were rapidly fading. With Galactus arriving at the island to consume it, Thor and the Avengers, sent by Lady Sif through the Bifrost Bridge to reinforce the God of Thunder, had to scramble to regain their memories to save this brave, new world and find a way to eventually home to their native universe after the battle was won and this particular loop was broken.

For Batman, there's no Justice League on hand at the moment to save him or Catwoman from the violent cycle that they find themselves trapped in on Battle Royale Island. The Dark Knight is without his usual gadgets and allies to give him a hand, fighting only alongside Catwoman and yet unaware of who she and he himself actually are. And with Renegade Raider and Bandolier among the familiar faces fighting the Caped Crusader on loop, Batman is going to have to adjust to his new normal and reclaim his old life if he hopes to escape back to Gotham.
