WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #3, by Donald Mustard, Christos Gage, Reilly Brown, Nelson Faro DeCastro, John Kalisz and AndWorld Design, on sale now.

Batman has found himself whisked away to the world of Fortnite but the Dark Knight is far from the only character from the DC Universe to end up on the Island. Pursuing Harley Quinn into a strange, extra-dimensional rift that appeared in the skies above Gotham City, Batman realized Catwoman had also found herself on the Island, trapped in an endless cycle of combat against the familiar faces from the Fortnite world.

And in the latest cycle, it becomes clear that Deathstroke has also arrived on the Island and the deadly assassin has the Dark Knight and Catwoman right in his sights.

Deathstroke Catwoman

Batman and Catwoman's dynamic on Fortnite Island had been a tenuous one, even more rocked by distrust and shifting allegiances than their usual relationship in the DCU. Even as their identities were wiped clean across each cycle, Batman and Catwoman intuitively were aware that they had a history with each other prior to their arrival on the Island. The two left messages for each other across various cycles on Batman's makeshift Batcave as the World's Greatest Detective searched for a way to break the cycle and escape from the Island for good.

And while Catwoman has betrayed Batman's trust in past cycles, it's clear the Dark Knight is still looking to work with his old paramour as Deathstroke surfaces.

Batman and Catwoman fight in Fortnite

Deathstroke heralds his arrival on Fortnite Island by holding Catwoman at gunpoint as he demands Batman surrender to him. Just like Catwoman, it's unclear how exactly Deathstroke traveled from the DCU to Fortnite Island but he appears more in control of his faculties than any of his fellow DCU counterparts. Most notably, Deathstroke appears to retain his ability to speak, something most combatants in Fortnite are unable to do. This also suggests that Slade Wilson may have a hand in controlling the events of Zero Point, the intersection between the DCU and Fortnite, targeting Gotham and its iconic denizens with unknown motives in mind.

The most recent issue of Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point revolved around an email correspondence between undisclosed colleagues, largely focused on observing the battle between Batman and the fan-favorite G.I. Joe ninja warrior Snake Eyes. The interoffice memorandum concludes by warning the email recipient that the Dark Knight is incoming just before Batman comes face to face with Deathstroke at a start of a new cycle, further underscoring that Slade may be in league with the ones responsible for opening the Zero Point. And with Deathstroke confronting Batman fresh off his Snake Eyes confrontation, it indicates those observing this set of cycles may be impressed enough to approach the Caped Crusader with an offer of their own.

Originally starting out as an antagonist for the Teen Titans, Deathstroke has become a threat for the wider DC Universe. This appears to have continued to Fortnite Island, with Slade potentially selling his services to those orchestrating the Zero Point and targeting Batman. And if Deathstroke remembers his past while Batman and Catwoman do not, Slade appears to have a serious edge over his longtime foe that could result in the Dark Knight having to capitulate to the Terminator as their feud carries over in a new world.
