Batman and his allies are about to enter a hellish new status quo in 2022 with a DC event titled Fear State.

DC released covers and details about Fear State, which will spin out of events in DC Future State and Infinite Frontier. Fear State follows Scarecrow as he continues his quest to control Gotham City through fear, while Mayor Christopher Nakano launches a ground-breaking deal with The Magistrate to protect Gotham. The prelude to Fear State begins in August across multiple Batman-themed titles.

I Am Batman #1 will go on sale on Aug. 10 from writer John Ridley and artist Travel Foreman. Picking up after the events of The Next Batman: Second SonI Am Batman sees Jace Fox don Batman armor to battle the Magistrate and protect Gotham's Alleytown.

Catwoman #34 from Ram V and artist Fernando Blanco, goes on sale on Aug. 17. Selina Kyle struggles to protect Alleytown from the Magistrate's forces and various villains. Things are only complicated by the appearance of Batman -- especially when the duo agreed to give each other a one-year break.

Harley Quinn #6 goes on sale on Aug. 24, from Stephanie Phillips and artist Laura Braga. Harley and Catwoman join forces to drive the Magistrate out of Alleytown, leading to Harley's trademark brand of chaos.

Finally, Batman: Fear State Alpha #1 goes on sale on Aug. 31 from Batman writer James Tynion IV and artist Riccardo Federici. The issue features the Dark Knight battling the Scarecrow and the Magistrate, with things compounded by the return of Poison Ivy. Batman #112-117 will also build up the events of Fear State, featuring six connecting covers by Jorge Molina.
