The following article contains spoilers from Batman/Superman: World's Finest #14 from DC Comics.

A dangerous new villain emerges in the final pages of Batman/Superman: World's Finest #14, equipped with the power to generate Kryptonite and keep Superman down for the count.

Engineered by Professor Anthony Ivo -- the creator of the terrifying Amazo robot -- this foe was generated using Metamorpho as a template and possesses Rex Mason's ability to produce objects composed of the various elements within his body. As Superman and Robin investigate Ivo's hidden laboratory and confront the scientist's robot army, the Man of Steel slowly begins reacting to the presence of nearby Kryptonite, becoming slow and weak. He's soon waylaid by a punch from his new enemy and Ivo relishes in the opportunity to boast on a loudspeaker about his newest creation.

Batman/Superman World's Finest introduces Ultra-Metamorpho, a deadly enemy designed to kill Superman

"Mason can replicate only the elements in the human body," Ivo gleefully says. "Rather a limited menu. Better for me to command a creation that can transform into any element on the periodic table and beyond..including Kryptonite!"

The Deadly Potential Of Ultra-Metamorpho And Metamorpho

DC's solicits for May offer a sneak peek at the name of this new villain, which will officially be revealed in Batman/Superman: World's Finest #15. Dubbed Ultra-Metamorpho, Ivo's latest creation is described as a deadly killer android capable of transforming into all elements.

"Elementary," the current story arc of Batman/Superman: World's Finest, features the apparent murder of Simon Stagg, the nefarious CEO of Stagg Enterprises. As Batman and Superman investigate Stagg's death, they initially suspect Metamorpho due to the antagonistic relationship that he and Stagg share. The World's Finest soon learn that Stagg's body was replaced with an android double, and the trail leads them to Ivo, who appears to be orchestrating a plot to replace all billionaires in the DC Universe with robotic copies. Ultra-Metamorpho was constructed to frame the real Rex Mason for Stagg's murder but repurposed at the last moment when Ivo realized that he had a powerful weapon in his hands.

Ultra-Metamorpho's abilities make him a deadly thorn in Superman's side akin to Metallo, another Man of Steel villain with a chunk of Kryptonite serving as his heart. They also highlight the incredible potential of Metamorpho, who remains one of DC's lesser-known heroes but could easily kill anyone in a locked room due to the versatility of his elemental powerset -- a fact that Batman acknowledges multiple times throughout "Elementary."

Batman/Superman: World's Finest #14 is written by Mark Waid, illustrated by Dan Mora, colored by Tamra Bonvillain, lettered by Steve Wands and features a main cover by Mora. Serg Acuna, Hayden Sherman, Nikola Cizmesija and Simone Di Meo provide variant covers. The issue is on sale now from DC.
