Paranormal detective Dylan Dog and Batman, the World's Greatest Detective, will be going up against villains Joker and Xabaras in a new comic series.
A new collaboration between DC Comics and Italian publishing houses Sergio Bonelli Editore and RW Edizioni will produce a limited series featuring the four popular characters. The first issue will debut at Lucca Comics and Games 2019, an annual comics and gaming convention taking place in Lucca, Italy.
"Everyone at Sergio Bonelli Editore is thrilled to be part of an event of this magnitude," Michele Masiero, SBE Editor in Chief Editorial Strategy, announced in a press release. "Our creative imaginations have been racing since the moment this kicked off with our friends at DC and RW."
"We are proud to help make this historic project possible and to be part of it" Pasquale Saviano, CEO of RW Edizioni, added. "We are looking forward to working with SBE and DC to bring Italian readers the most exciting stories that they never expected."
Dylan Dog is a series of horror comics centered on a charismatic paranormal detective (or "nightmare investigator") with a complicated past. Dylan Dog has faced down mad killers, interdimensional sorcerers and deformed maniacs amongst many other threats. Supporting characters include Groucho, a Groucho Marx impersonator who is Dog's friend, roommate and sidekick.
Issue #0 of the crossover series will be entitled "Dangerous Liaisons" and feature writer Roberto Recchioni and artists Gigi Cavenago and Werther Dell'Edera. The issue will feature two variant covers; one portraying Batman and Dylan Dog and another with Batman and Xabraxas.
