Warner Bros. Animation adapted the DC comic, Batman: Death in the Family -- one of the Dark Knight's greatest stories -- into an interactive, animated film. Recently, Warner Bros. released the opening title sequence to its upcoming film, recounting the story's broad strokes.

In the opening sequence, Batman races against time throughout Eastern Europe while the Joker acquires a nuclear device. As Batman plans to avert disaster, the Joker sets Jason Todd up for an explosive fate.

The film is a prequel to 2010's Batman: Under the Red Hood, which had Jason rise from the grave and take on the mantle of the lethal vigilante Red Hood to wage his revenge against Batman and the Joker. Death in the Family adapts the classic Jim Starlin and Jim Aparo comic book story of the same name, encapsulating Batman's great defeat to the Joker. Death in the Family is an interactive film, allowing audiences to choose divergent paths in the movie, which results in radically different experiences.

Produced, written and directed by Brandon Vietti, Batman: Death in the Family stars Bruce Greenwood, John DiMaggio, Vincent Martella, Zehra Fazal and Gary Cole. The film is scheduled to be released on Blu-ray and Digital HD on Oct. 13.
