A new variant cover for Batman: Curse of the White Knight features Bruce Wayne's attentive butler, Alfred, preparing for battle.

Posted by the series writer and artist, Sean Gordon Murhpy, the variant cover depicts Alfred hiding behind a corner, holding a sword. The cover was posted with the caption, "Variant ALFRED Cover (4B) for Curse of the White Knight."

Colors for the variant were done by Matt Hollingsworth, who has worked with Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Vertigo and Dark Horse.

Curse of the White Knight is the follow-up to Batman: White Knight, a series set in a world where the Joker has been cured of his madness and is trying to save Gotham from Batman. Curse of the White Knight will feature Batman going against the assassin Azrael. The series will premiere on DC Black Label, which features some of the publisher's more "adult-themed" titles, including Batman: Damned.

Murphy wrote and illustrated the art for both Batman: Curse of the White Knight and Batman: White Knight. His other popular works include Punk Rock Jesus, Joe the Barbarian and Tokyo Ghost. Murphy also had a run on DC's Vertigo line, writing Hellblazer with Jason Aaron.

Batman: Curse of the White Knight releases July 24.
