Batman writer Tom King has shared new artwork for the upcoming story arc, "City of Bane," which features the final showdown between the villain and the Dark Knight. The artwork by Tony S. Daniel may reveal the Psycho-Pirate as the individual behind Alfred's recent odd behavior.

The three-panel artwork shows Psycho-Pirate placing his mask over his face as Two-Face looks on, followed by Alfred with a glazed look over his eyes standing in front of the serial killer Victor Zsasz, with the third panel displaying someone lifting a hood over their head as snow falls.

King states the scene takes place in the final arc of "Batman: City of Bane," which could signal that Alfred will continue to be emotionally-controlled by Psycho-Pirate heading into the final stretch of the story arc.

Alfred's weird behavior dates back to May's Batman #71, when Batman's faithful butler didn't bat an eye when Bane and Batman's "Flashpoint"-reality father found their way inside Wayne Manor to confront the Dark Knight. A suspiciously complicit Alfred attempted to serve a quiet dinner to the trio, ending the meal with some deflating words to Batman: "You have lost."
