Apparently, when Christian Bale met Donald Trump while filming 2011's The Dark Knight Rises, the current President thought the actor really was Bruce Wayne.

Bale was interviewed on the red carpet for the premiere of Vice, the new film in which he stars as the former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney. One of the subjects that came up was how Bale actually met the current President of the United States years ago, as part of The Dark Knight Rises was filmed at Trump Tower, and Bale was invited to his office.

“I think he thought I was Bruce Wayne,” Bale jokingly told Variety, "because I was dressed as Bruce Wayne. So he talked to me like I was Bruce Wayne and I just went along with it, really. It was quite entertaining. I had no idea at the time that he would think about running for president.”

Bale also spoke about the drastic weight changes he goes through for his roles, including bulking up for Batman and getting larger for Vice, admitting that "This is the first time I actually did go to a nutritionist cause I’m starting to feel my mortality... I did decide, ‘You know what, I might die, so maybe I should go to see someone who actually knows what they’re talking about instead of just winging it,’ which is what I’ve always done.”

Vice, directed by Adam McKay and starring Bale, Amy Adams, Steve Carrell, Sam Rockwell, Jess Plemons, Alison Pill, Shea Whigham, Lily Rabe, Vanessa Cloke, Tyler Perry, Tiffany Smith and Justin Kirk, arrives Dec. 25.
