The following contains spoilers for Batman/Catwoman #12, now on sale from DC Comics.

Superman Clark Kent and Lois Lane hold a special role in Batman and Catwoman's wedding.

The Bat/Cat nuptials finally take place during the final issue of writer Tom King and artist Clay Mann's Batman/Catwoman limited series. While selecting what type of ceremony Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle wish to have at the Gotham Chapel, the happy couple are informed that they need two witnesses for legal reasons. Rather than pay to have two witnesses appointed for them, Selina suggests to Bruce that Clark and Lois should fulfill the responsibility. As soon as Bruce begins to say out loud, "Clark. We're doing it. If you and Lois wish to… to attend…" so the Man of Steel can hear him from miles away, Clark and Lois rush in like a speeding bullet, and are the sole attendees of the wedding.

Superman and Lois Lane Hold a VERY Special Role in Batman and Catwoman’s Marriage

The ceremony is also a unique event for the Bat and the Cat. The chapel offers a "Batrimony" option for couples, which includes two Batrings, a Batpicture, a Batwedding license (still a legal document, but with a "Batstamp" on it) and the privilege of the marriage officiant being dressed like Adam West's Caped Crusader from the '60s Batman television series. Bruce and Selina select the Batrimony option, though the '60s Batman music is accidentally swapped with "O Holy Night," keeping with the title's Christmas theme.

King previously included Superman and Lois in his ongoing Batman run. The two-part "Superfriends" storyline involves Bruce and Selina going on a double date with Lois and Clark, where the World's Finest duo swap their superhero costumes to attend a fair, visit a baseball field to see if Batman can hit a baseball pitched by Superman and more. As for the Batrimony, the special ceremony marks another instance of King showing how Gotham capitalizes on the city's resident superhero, being that he introduced "Bat Burger" during his ongoing run as well, a themed restaurant inspired by the Dark Knight and his rogues' gallery.

To see more of Batman and Superman interacting, readers can pick up Batman/Superman: World's Finest by writer Mark Waid and artist Dan Mora. The current series is set during the duo's earlier years, back when Dick Grayson was still Robin as opposed to Nightwing. Along with the recent Shadow War event, the title serves as a prelude to the upcoming Batman vs. Robin series releasing in Sept. 2022, written by Waid with art by Mahmud Asrar.

Batman/Catwoman #12 is written by King with interior and main cover art by Mann, colors by Tomeu Morey and letters by Clayton Cowles. Variant covers for the issue are contributed to by Travis Charest, Jim Lee, Scott Williams and Alex Sinclair. The issue is now on sale from DC Comics.
