Batman/Catwoman has leaped through multiple time periods, exploring the love life of Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle. Now a new one-shot will reveal just how connected the two have been over the years.

The Batman/Catwoman Special #1 will track Selina's life throughout her youth to the beginning of her criminal career, and how Bruce was part of it all. Batman/Catwoman writer Tom King will pen the special, with John Paul Leon (Batman: Creature of the Night, Static Shock: Rebirth of the Cool) providing artwork and Dave Stewart on colors. King and Leon previously teamed up on the "Black Death in America" story for Vertigo CMYK: Black.

Batwoman/Catwoman is written by King with art by Clay Mann. The series is set in three different time periods: at the beginning of Batman and Catwoman's career, during the time that they're officially a couple, and when an elderly Selina Kyle seeks revenge against the Joker for the death of her husband. The series has introduced Batman and Catwoman's daughter Helena, who becomes Batwoman in the future. It also introduced Andrea Beaumont -- better known as the masked vigilante Phantasm -- into DC Comics canon, as she came to Bruce for help in solving her son's murder.

Written by Tom King and illustrated by John Paul Leon with variant covers by Lee Weeks and Bill Sienkiewicz, Batman/Catwoman Special #1 goes on sale on July 20 from DC.
