Tom King and Clay Mann's Batman/Catwoman maxiseries recently got its release date. Now, more information about the book's plot is coming to life --including how one particular story will explore the "distant future" where Bruce has died.

On DC Comics' official blog, it states that the 12-issue series will explore different time periods in Bruce and Selina's longtime romance. One of those time periods takes place after Bruce died --and Selina is hungry for revenge. The site says, "There’s the distant future, where after a long and happy marriage Bruce Wayne has passed away. Selina Kyle decides to settle an old score without having to worry about the Batman objecting. Catwoman is serving a very cold dish: Revenge."

Another story will examine the past. The entry on DC's site reads, "There’s the past when The Bat and The Cat first fell in love. Did they meet on the street? Or was it on a boat? Rooftops, ramparts and gargoyles, and over 80 years of fans that have read their comics, are their only witnesses."  The question about how they met is, of course, a reference to Tom King's Batman run. During the run, there are a couple of conversations between Selina and Bruce where the two argue about how they actually met.

The series will cover the past, present and future of Bruce and Selina's tumultuous romance. In regards to the "present" arc, DC's site reads, "And in the present, Bruce and Selina’s union is threatened by the arrival of one of Batman’s past flings, Andrea Beaumont, a.k.a. Phantasm. Beaumont’s return calls into question how each character chooses to operate in their costumed, and personal, lives, and any move by Phantasm could change the fate of Bruce and Selina’s future."

Another wrench in Bruce and Selina's happy plans comes in the form of the Joker. Something Joker did in the past will allegedly have huge consequences on the story in the present and future. The site adds, "Batman’s greatest foe will intervene any time Batman and Catwoman try to take steps towards peace—he already robbed fans of a Bat/Cat wedding celebration! Any change in the Caped Crusader’s life will be matched with the chaos of the Clown Prince of Crime…and the Joker’s not leaving any witnesses. Not even a gargoyle. Will Selina make good on her final kill?"

Batman/Catwoman #1 goes on sale Dec. 1 from DC Comics.
