Any fan of Batman Beyond is familiar with Terry McGinnis  He's the young hero who picked up the Batman mantle once Bruce Wayne was no longer able to. Recently, fans had reason to hope that they'd be finally seeing him in the DCEU.

Unfortunately, all the fans theories were incorrect, but that doesn't mean fans will never see this particular hero in movie format. In fact, given all of the reasons why fans want to see his live-action debut, it feels like it's inevitable. But perhaps that is just desperate hope showing through.

Regardless, here are ten reasons why everyone wants to see Terry arrive into the DCEU.

10 A Look To The Future

One of the (many) reasons fans love Batman Beyond so much is because it gives audiences a glimpse into the future of Gotham. This is a series that portrays an old and broken Bruce Wayne, a city that survived a lifetime of villains and vigilantes, and is still going forward.

It's a fascinating world, one that merges tech with the themes known to the comic series. That just makes it all the more fun to read or watch, and would be an ideal setting for a Batman reboot sometime in the future.

9 He Comes With New Villains

Want another amazing feature of Batman Beyond? While classic antagonists do make an appearance, the series itself comes with dozens of new villains worth exploring. Bringing these villains into the DCEU would provide even more opportunities for plots, and overall would offer a dramatic change

Who were wouldn't love to see a rendition of the Jokerz, or Curare, or any of the other iconic villains that fans have seen Terry come up against?

8 A Different Sort of Hero

Terry McGinnis is not Bruce Wayne. This is a fact that is obvious from the start, but it also becomes clearer with time. It's a refreshing change of pace all around to have such a lively and agile character.

Everything from Terry's backstory to the way he resolves problems is different from that of Bruce Wayne. Switching to Terry's story would allow a massive opportunity for change, not to mention a chance to surprise new fans.

7 The Dynamics Have Changed

Related to the point above, Terry's version of Batman brings with it several changes in the dynamics. There is no Alfred, not anymore. But there is a Bruce Wayne behind the scenes, directing Terry through his adventures as Batman.

That is one of many changes the series features. Terry is also not an only child, and thus has that to concern with, as well as the way he interacts with the city and villains. It is all a totally different perspective and dynamic than Bruce Wayne.

6 A New Perspective On Old Favorites

Batman Beyond, while bringing new villains and enemies into the mix, is also unafraid to bring back old favorites. Fans of the TV series and comics know that well. They've seen classics transitioned into something new (such as the Jokerz or Dee Dee), but we've also seen older variants of popular villains come back to life.

This mixture is revitalizing, but it's also clever. Finally, fans are getting a chance to see how these villains have fared, even after all these years. Not to mention, it would give the DCEU even more room to play with.

5 His Fighting Style

It has already been pointed out that Terry McGinnis is basically as different from Bruce Wayne as possible. That even applies to their fighting styles. Bruce Wayne was an expert in several different martial arts, and it shows.

Meanwhile, Terry is not formally trained, unless you count scraps on the streets. He's slim and agile, not to mention fast. The way he would deal with an enemy is completely different from the way Bruce would, and that is not a bad thing.

4 His Past

Terry's past plays a major role in the series, and thus could easily be pulled into any movie involving him. This list won't go so far as to say he has a tortured past, but it certainly is a colorful one.

Terry hasn't always been on the right side of the law (assuming you're willing to say that vigilantes are on the 'good side'), and thus he's gotten into a fair share of trouble. Throw in a completely different set of family dynamics, and it's another reminder of how different he is from Bruce.

3 His Part In The Justice League

Batman Beyond With The Justice League Of The Future

Believe it or not, Terry has spent his fair share of time working with the Justice League. Well, the version of the Justice League that exists when he is an active hero, that is. Think about all of the movie opportunities that could come with this.

Not only would it give viewers a chance to see this new team dynamic, but it could even open the door for solo movies involving the other newer members of the Justice League.

2 An Older Bruce Wayne's Role

In case it wasn't obvious: Terry picked up the mantle of Batman because Bruce was no longer capable of doing so himself. After all, Bruce is not the sort of character to ever hang up the cape if he was capable of going on.

That means Bruce's role in the series is dramatically altered. He is no longer the one on the streets, but rather the one in the chair. He's Terry's coach, and without him, it's unlikely that Terry would have made it through certain situations.

1 It's Time For A Change

Lastly, let's just be honest here: change can be good. The change to Batman Beyond would certainly be exactly that. It'd be a chance to see something new and different, all while still relishing the world fans have all come to love so much.

Everything about Terry is simultaneously different and familiar. It's as drastic as a change can be, while still being set in the same city. That is one of the many reasons why it is so fascinating, and why fans are still rooting for the chance to see it on the big screen someday.
