WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Batman Beyond #43 by Dan Jurgens, Sean Chen, Sean Parsons, Norm Rapmund, and Chris Sotomayor, available now.

For years, Terry McGinnis has served as the Batman of the future, and he's had to learn to adjust to the events of the future and all the threats that may arise. Although he's dedicated himself to carrying on Batman's legacy, he can't protect all of it. For instance, the Batcave was recently wrecked after a fierce battle. Even though Terry and his allies all walked away from the battle, it left the Batcave in a state of disrepair.

Much like Batman did when the cave was destroyed in the past, Batman Beyond has relocated to a whole new base in the very heart of Neo-Gotham in Batman Beyond #43.

After a period of time spent away from his duties of protecting Gotham thanks to False-Face briefly erasing his memory, Terry McGinnis has returned to his role as the Batman of Neo-Gotham. However, there are still major changes that the young hero has to adjust to. Notably, the original Batcave was largely destroyed during a recent battle with the radioactive Blight. This has forced Batman to relocate, with Bruce Wayne revealing that he's established a new base of operations in the heart of Gotham City.

One of the Wayne Tech buildings is revealed to be the new home of Batman, with Bruce surprising Terry and Matt with the location. The headquarters is hidden away from prying eyes thanks to a false wall projected around the base, which will go a long way towards disguising Batman's comings and goings. This could help prevent people from tracking Batman's movements, and it could even help keep Terry's identity a secret. The holograms make every opening appear to just be a wall, allowing Batman to surprise people from any direction. The surrounding buildings are all also owned by Wayne Industries, who have also been given holographic projectors, which will also help hide Batman's activities like his upcoming team-up with Damian Wayne even more.

The new Batcave isn't even a cave hidden away either. Instead, it's in a sleek and massive high-rise building that looks out across the entire city from above. Terry's brother Matt even names the base the Bat-Suite, arguing it's no longer appropriate to call the high-rise apartment a "cave."

This is hardly even the first time Batman has relocated his base of operations in the center of Gotham. After Dick Grayson went off to college, Batman and Alfred moved into a Wayne Tower Penthouse, which sat atop the Batcave II in the '80s. After that idea was adapted on the big screen in The Dark Knight, with the hero setting his base near the location of his parent's death during the early events of Batman: Zero Year, allowing him to closer to the "battlefield."

But thanks to the changing landscape of Neo-Gotham, Bruce has been able to turn almost an entire city block into a tool for Batman's war against crime. With the surrounding buildings all having technology that can help hide their movements and actions, they could even turn out to be more suited to Terry's ever-changing needs. They could even provide access to potential laboratories or armories, which would give Terry easy access to any and all future additions that could make his role as Gotham's protector easier.
