Batman Begins 2, Masters of the Universe, Smallville, Zoom: January 5th Comic Reel Wrap

There’s an interesting interview from last month over at if Magazine where actor Christian Bale talks about how to keep the iconic character fresh. “You have to keep on moving forward and pressing on and finding new and impressive character points and storylines, but I’ve got real confidence,” said Bale. “I think that Chris is such a smart man and when I did finally get into the game I would have certain questions about why he was doing something and not quite understanding it. He would explain it to me and it would be like, ‘Now that he’s said it’s so obvious. That really works. Yeah.’ So I have great faith in him that he will be pulling something out of the hat that will be even better than the first one.”

There’s big trouble in Eternia. First, Kryptonsite has some info from actor John Glover, who says he “knows nothing about” the rumors swirling around him being cast as Skeletor, and they call the whole hullaballoo “just a fan wish.”

Meanwhile, a new column at Moviehole alleges that “John Woo has moved on from the project and it’s as frozen as my windscreen on a winter’s morning. Any casting rumours you hear are pure speculation or fan-boy dreaming.”

Speaking of Kansas’ weirdest town, TV Guide’s Ask Ausiello was asked about a sixth season, and responded, “Nothing official, but if you’re making a wager, bet $100,000 on ‘yes.'”

ZOOM has posted two new set photos from the Jason Lethcoe adaptation, set in an “academy for the super-gifted.”

Frank Miller told Empire Online that “I’m finishing the script right now for Sin City 2 — I can’t wait to get back behind the camera. If I have my way, there’s going to be five [films] — but that’s if I have my way! Five would take care of all the graphic novels — but there’s new material that I’m writing for the second one. There’ll probably also be a separate graphic novel that I’ll do. It’s a Nancy Callahan story that I’ve been wanting to do.”

Update: Warner Bros has provided CBR News with new, high-res “Superman Returns” images.

Closing time, kiddies — Comics Continuum has the schedule for the last three new episodes of the hit Cartoon Network series.

Here’s where you get in on the action. Did you see a link we didn’t catch? Have you snuck into a closed movie set, and have inside data? Maybe your cousin is dating somebody who knows something, and they had to tell you? Whatever it is, we wanna know it all — fire off an email and let us know whether you want your name used or your contributions to geekdom to go down anonymously. C’mon, stop treating us like T-Mobile treats the owners of a Sidekick 1. Broadcasting live from Los Angeles, this is novelist/reviewer/karaoke host/all-around lunatic Hannibal Tabu saying thanks for your time and indulgence, and [tagline sent back to development hell until something hipper can be dreamed up].
