WARNING: The following article contains potential spoilers for Batman #100 by James Tynion IV, Jorge Jimenez, Guillem March, Carlo Pagulayan and Danny Miki, on sale Oct. 6 from DC Comics.

This week, DC Comics' "Joker War" reaches its climax with the release of Batman #100. And Batman writer James Tynion IV promises that none other than Barbara Gordon will be a central player in the Dark Knight's main title moving forward.

DC recently released a preview for Batman #100, which sees Barbara helping her comrades even the odds by shedding her Batgirl cowl, putting on a pair of glasses and assuming the mantle of Oracle for the first time in nearly a decade. As Tynion writes on his blog, it looks like readers can expect her to stick around for the foreseeable future.

"One key element in that is that I can say that Barbara Gordon is going to be an absolutely central character for the rest of this year, and next year," the writer said while discussing what's next for Batman. "If you've been missing Oracle in the Bat-verse like I have, I think you're going to be very excited where things go from here."

Written by James Tynion IV and illustrated by Jorge Jimenez, Guillem March, Carlo Pagulayan and Danny Miki, Batman #100 goes on sale Oct. 6 from DC Comics.
