An upcoming NECA prop perfectly replicates the iconic weapon on the vigilante Nightwing from the Batman: Arkham series.

The replica from the National Entertainment Collectible Association recreated the signature escrima stick. Nightwing's baton-style weapon is imbued with electrical upgrades to enhance its stunning capabilities. To imitate this aspect of the weapon, NECA included "signature LED lights and a vibration to simulate the in-game “electrical pulse” that makes it such a powerful weapon." In its default form, it measures 12 inches, but much like how it functions in the game, the replica can be extended to 18 inches for increased range.

The replica is set to be released in June 2021. Notably, the company's website lists the item in reference to Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham Knight, yet the description and packaging connect it to the prior Batman: Arkham City. Nightwing did feature in both games, first introduced as a playable character in the game's Challenge Maps. The character is usually absent from the narrative due to Batman: Origins predating his time as Robin. However, the character played a more prominent role in the latest game's story, returning to Gotham to help Batman stop the Penguin's operation.

His signature weapon has featured in more than just the Arkham games, as it makes appearances in the comics and shows such as Young Justice. Within the game, it provided Dick Greyson with a unique fighting style to distinguish his gameplay from Bruce Wayne's. Unlike Bruce, Nightwing does not rely on hand-to-hand combat, using his weaponry as the main means of stunning, disarming and taking down his foes.

NECA as a distributor has provided collectibles licensed from films, television, video-games and more since 1996, with NECA's Reel Toys forming in 2002. This is not the association's first involvement with Rocksteady's games, as it previously created one of Batman's large batarangs. Much like the escrima sticks, the batarang contained LED lights in one of the interchangeable faceplates. For anyone less inclined to fictional weaponry, it's also created action figures associated with the game.
