Former Batman actor George Clooney revealed that he agrees with critics of the 1997 film, Batman & Robin, admitting that it wasn't his best work.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Clooney first mentioned that there wasn't much he could do about his poor performance in the film. "The truth of the matter is, I was bad in it. Akiva Goldsman — who's won the Oscar for writing since then — he wrote the screenplay. And it's a terrible screenplay, he'll tell you. I'm terrible in it, I'll tell you," the actor said. He even added that the film's director, the late Joel Schumacher, would have admitted Batman & Robin wasn't good.

Batman and Robin released in the United States on June 20, 1997 and featured Clooney's first and only performance as the Caped Crusader. The film was the fourth in Warner Bros.' Batman film series of the late '80s and '90s, which began with 1989's Batman and also included 1992's Batman Returns and 1995's Batman Forever.

Batman and Robin told the story of Bruce Wayne/Batman and his young sidekick, Chris O'Donnell's Dick Grayson/Robin, on a mission to stop Arnold Schwarzenegger's Dr. Victor Fries/Mr. Freeze. Many other popular characters from Batman comics made appearances in the film, including Poison Ivy, Batgirl, and Alfred Pennyworth.
