The world lost an icon last week when beloved Batman '66 and Family Guy actor Adam West passed away at the age of 88 following a short bout with leukemia. But while West may no longer be with us, his cherished work will live on in the memories of others, with family members, colleagues and hundreds of his fans having taken to social media to honor his contributions beyond not only Batman, but to pop culture in general.

One of these tributes came in the form of a remix of the classic Batman '66 theme courtesy of YouTuber 331Erock, a talented guitarist whose channel is solely dedicated to providing heavier covers of popular soundtracks from movies, TV shows, and cartoons:

Following an opening sound bite spoken by West's Batman, the tune kicks off, and it translates to metal much better than you might guess. The actor's portrayal clearly meant something special to the guitarist, as all throughout the video, the classic onomatopoeia title cards from Batman '66 are accompanied by a corresponding riff. The tribute is bookended by a heartfelt message to West, as the video closes with a notation stating, "Thanks for everything Batman."
