Tara Strong, who voiced Batgirl on The New Batman Adventures and other roles across DC projects, has shared a loving tribute to her late costar Kevin Conroy. In a Twitter thread, Strong shared several photos from behind the scenes of The New Batman Adventures as well as those from various cons and fan events that she attended with Conroy over the years. "The world lost a legend last week," Strong wrote of Conroy's recent passing. "The world is different. There's a big black hole in my heart. It makes me sick to think I'll never hug him, feel his warm smile or hear his voice alive again, but thanks to his brilliance, his voice lives on forever. He IS #Batman." She also spoke to Conroy's strength of character and passionate work ethic. "Aside from his talent he was a true mensch. He always gave 100% to his fans. He always gave 100% to all he did," she wrote. "I'm gonna miss you friend. Until we meet again in that big #Batcave in the sky. G'night Batsie." Strong adds to a growing list of colleagues and fans who have taken to social media to honor Conroy, who passed away at age 66 following a battle with cancer. Reports of Conroy's death broke after Diane Pershing, who voiced Poison Ivy in Batman: The Animated Series, shared her condolences on Facebook. Mark Hamill, who voiced The Joker opposite Conroy's Caped Crusader, has also paid homage to the late performer. "Kevin was perfection," he wrote in a post on Instagram. "He will always be my Batman."

Conroy has been the preeminent voice of the Dark Knight for three decades, beginning with 1992's Batman: The Animated Series. He has since earned the distinction of playing Batman longer than other actor thanks to his work on various animated shows, movies, video games and even live-action with his appearance as a battle-scarred Bruce Wayne in the Arrowverse's "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover event. Conroy was also an accomplished film, television and stage performer, appearing in theater productions of Hamlet and A Midsummer Night's Dream, and on Broadway in adaptations of Lolita and Eastern Standard.
