A new set photo from production on Batgirl provides another look at Leslie Grace's Batgirl costume.

Posted to the r/DCEULeaks Reddit, the image shows Grace in costume as Batgirl on set in Glasgow, Scotland. Overall, the look isn't much different from the comics-accurate version shown off last week. However, the set photo does show Batgirl wearing goggles as part of her outfit. It's unclear at this time what purpose the goggles might serve.

Since production on Batgirl began, a number of set photos have leaked online. The content of those images has varied. However, one set of photos revealed Michael Keaton's Bruce Wayne/Batman and his Robin, teasing the actor's role in the film following his appearance in The Flash later this year. Other set photos have potentially referenced classic Batman villain Hugo Strange and Young Justice's Klarion the Witch Boy.

Originally slated to be written, directed and produced by Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Joss Whedon, Batgirl was announced in 2017. However, Whedon departed Batgirl a year later, claiming he could not come up with a story for the DC Extended Universe film. Following his departure, Christina Hodson, who wrote The Flash and Birds of Prey, has signed on to write, while Bad Boys for Life's Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will direct the film.

There are few confirmed plot details at this time. However, set photos give some indication the movie is drawing inspiration from 2003's Batgirl: Year One, by Scott Beatty, Chuck Dixon, Marcos Martin and Alvaro Lopez. Leaked images earlier this week showed off Infantino's Costumes For All Occasions, which played a role in that series. Additionally, other images have revealed references to Anthony Bressi, who played a big role in that story. Finally, Brendan Fraser will play Firefly, the movie's villain and and important character in Batgirl: Year One.

Created by William Dozier, Julius Schwartz, Gardner Fox and Carmine Infantino, Barbara Gordon/Batgirl first appeared in the 1960s Batman TV series before making her comics debut in 1967's Detective Comics #359. Barbara, who is the daughter of Gotham City Police Department Commissioner Jim Gordon, has served as a key member of the Bat-family over the decades and has had several solo series of her own.

Premiering exclusively on HBO Max sometime in 2022, Batgirl doesn't have an exact release date at this time.
