Batgirl star Leslie Grace has confirmed that Batman will not appear in the Dominoed Daredoll's first solo feature film.

During an interview with ET, Grace discussed her reaction to a clip of ET telling DC Extended Universe veteran and Harley Quinn actor Margot Robbie about Grace landing the role of Barbara Gordon/Batgirl.

"I was freaking out!" Grace began. "I'm such a fan. I can't even. She's one of the biggest badasses in the superhero world. I haven't had a chance to meet her, but it would be awesome if at any point Batgirl comes through and Miss Harley Quinn drops by Gotham and have some business to handle, it might be cool!"

Grace then shot a message to Robbie, saying that she is "a huge fan" and if Robbie thinks "it's a good idea for Harley Quinn to stop by, [the cast and crew are] welcoming all of the help." She added, "Batman's out -- he's doing a whole bunch of stuff -- so I'm going to need some of my ladies to help me out on this next run, you know what I'm saying?"

Few details have been revealed about the plot of Batgirl, although producer Kristin Burr stated that the movie will "take the audience on a fun ride and see a different side of Gotham." The film will also see the return of J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, while a recent report also claimed that one of the villains in it will be Firefly.

Directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah with a script written by Christina Hodson, Batgirl is set to stream on HBO Max at an unspecified date in 2022.
