The actor is looking to make a return to what made her famous by setting her sights on Joss Whedon's Batgirl, taking to Twitter to suggest fans tell Whedon she should nab the titular role. It's currently unknown how far into the screenplay Whedon is, as he's stated before that things are still in the early stages. The fan-favorite writer and director has also previously expressed interest in casting an unknown for the role, seemingly taking Lohan out of contention for the gig.

Last year, Lohan scored her first acting role in years alongside Harry Potter's Rupert Grint in the UK comedy Sick Note. She most recently starred in a crime/horror film titled The Shadow Within from director Tiago Mesquita. This is not the first role the actress has campaigned for -- just last year, Lohan took to Instagram to show interest in starring in Disney's live-action The Little Mermaid as Ariel. Like Batgirl, little is currently known regarding Disney's forthcoming adaption of the classic film.
