Bat-Fan Cruises San Diego Streets in Custom Batmobile

When he isn’t working in real estate or weed trimming, Chris Banner becomes San Diego’s own Caped Crusader, complete with his own custom Batmobile.

According to NBC 7 News, Banner sees being a real-life Batman as his third job, where he produces live Batman shows, sometimes with the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

“You know some of these kids only have so much time left, and to put a smile on their face, it makes them happy. It’s worth it to me,” he said.

Banner built his ride from scratch, using a 1947 Ford Galaxy as a template. The work he put into the vehicle took about a year to complete and includes a custom dashboard, lights, smoke machine and a camera to help him back up, among other things.

“It’s 22-feet long, and it’s one heck of a machine to drive, especially when you’re Batman,” Banner shared.
