Former U.S. President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle are coming to Netflix.

The couple signed an exclusive deal with Netflix last year, but now The Hollywood Reporter has the first details on the ambitious slate of projects coming from the couple. The deal will see the Obamas working with their new Netflix-based production company Higher Ground to produce seven distinct projects for the streaming service.

The projects range from genre and style and include the Sundance Film Festival-winning documentary American Factory, the disability rights movement documentary Crip Camp and a film adapting the life of Fredrick Douglass titled Fredrick Douglass: Prophet of Freedom.

There will also be four television shows coming to Netflix from the production company, including Academy Award-winner Callie Khouri's period drama Bloom, an anthology series titled Overlooked about the New York Times obituary column of the same name, the preschool series Listen to Your Vegetables & Eat Your Parents by one of the creators of Drunk History and a non-fiction series based on the book The Fifth Risk by Michael Lewis

Barack Obama released a statement with the announcement, saying, "We created Higher Ground to harness the power of storytelling. That’s why we couldn’t be more excited about these projects... Touching on issues of race and class, democracy and civil rights, and much more, we believe each of these productions won’t just entertain, but will educate, connect and inspire us all.”
