"Injustice: Gods Among Us," the DC Comics-licensed fighting game from the "Mortal Kombat" producers at NetherRealm Studios, is moving right along in development, with a number of heroes and villains for gamers to choose from already announced, ranging from Batman and the Flash to the Joker and Solomon Grundy. But apparently the fight is just getting started, as two more villains are set to join the fray.

A photo of the latest issue of Best Buy's @GAMER publication (seen yesterday via NetherRealm Creative Director and "Mortal Kombat" co-creator Ed Boon's Twitter) has revealed the two new characters coming to "Injustice": Lex Luthor and Bane.

Bane and Luthor join NetherRealm's "Injustice" party

This isn't the first fighting game Luthor has been a part of, having previously appeared in "Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe" in the same armored suit he's wearing for "Injustice." According to the @Gamer article, Luthor can launch missiles at will, while also using a device that allows him to draw opponents closer. He can also enable a shield that can protect from incoming attacks, though it's not known to what degree yet. Luthor is also set to play a part in the game's story mode.

Meanwhile, Bane makes his fighting debut in "Injustice," but rather than go with the athletic, coat-wearing menace from "The Dark Knight Rises" or the monstrous version of Rocksteady's "Batman: Arkham City," NetherRealm opted for the character's classic look.Bane appears in his traditional mask, with Venom pumping into his veins resulting in a character with unprecedented strength. According to the description, Bane is able to trigger this fluid at will, bulking up for his attacks, which include throws that could literally send someone through a wall.

"Injustice: Gods Among Us" hits stores in April 2013 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U.
