For the 50th anniversary of Thunderbirds, Indianapolis balloon artist Brian Getz undertook his greatest challenge to date: recreating the iconic Thunderbird 3 rocket from the classic British sci-fi series as a 30-foot balloon sculpture.

It took Getz and a team of 20 volunteers nine hours and 2,400 to construct the replica of the spacecraft at the Indiana State Museum, a process captured in the video below.

Thunderbirds is scheduled to return to television next year with Thunderbirds Are Go!, a new 26-episode series from ITV Studios, Weta Workshop and Pukeko Pictures.
