Len Wiseman has signed on to direct Ballerina, a female-centric spinoff of the action franchise John Wick.

According to Deadline, the film will follow a young female assassin who seeks revenge against the people who killed her family. Shay Hatten, who penned the script for John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum, is writing the script, which was fast tracked by Lionsgate earlier this year. John Wick himself Keanu Reeves will produce.

The character was previously introduced in the last John Wick film, with the credits of Parabellum listing Unity Phelan as "Ballerina." It is not clear who will be the star of the spinoff or if Reeves will be in the film. Though, if he does make an appearance, it will most likely be a cameo.

This will be the first film in the franchise not directed by Chad Stahelski. Wiseman previously served as a producer for DC Universe's Swamp Thing and Fox's The Gifted.

The announcement comes a few months after Lionsgate announced the fourth John Wick filmJohn Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum opened in theaters this past summer, earning $171 million domestically and $323.4 million worldwide, making it the highest grossing film in the franchise.

Directed by Chad Stahelski, John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum stars Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne, Halle Berry, Jason Mantzoukas, Lance Reddick and Anjelica Huston.
