Bakugo may have to compete with Deku and Shoto for best boy within the My Hero Academia fandom, but he has proven on a number of different occasions that he is the top dog at UA in terms of combat prowess. Deku and Shoto may have an incredible amount of power stored up in their Quirks, but Bakugo possesses both power and control.

The UA Sports Festival and the unsupervised 1v1 battle between Deku and Bakugo both prove that Kacchan is untouchable in combat when paired up with his peers. The questions then take a leap into the hypothetical, as fans debate over the Explosion Murder God's strength when compared to those outside of his school. Say, the DC Universe, for example.

10 Could: Bakugo's AP Shot Would Put Any Green Lantern's Constructs To The Ultimate Test

Bakugo AP Shot _ My Hero Academia

A Green Lantern is forced to rely on the strength of their will when using their ring to create the constructs they use to enforce intergalactic policy. The Green Lantern Corps wisely chooses its members from those that exhibit a strength of will, but that doesn't mean that their members overcome their fear immediately.

Katsuki Bakugo has the advantage against Green Lantern for two reasons. First and foremost, Katsuki's Quirk is powerful enough to blast through solid concrete and only grows stronger the longer he is engaged in combat. Second, Kacchan approaches combat with a terrifying ferocity that would challenge the will of even the most courageous ring bearers in the Green Lantern Corps.

9 Couldn't: After Watching Bakugo Disregard The Life Of Earth's Beautiful Greenery, Poison Ivy Would Show MHA Fans Just How Underrated She Is

Poison Ivy Brainwashes Superman _ Batman Hush

The recent Harley Quinn animated series has brought a lot of attention to Gotham's criminal underworld. Amongst the villains that join Harley on her many merry antics is Pamela Isley, or Poison Ivy.

Bakugo's Quirk may be able to disintegrate plant life but he has yet to come into contact with a botanist/ecoterrorist like Ivy.  After blasting through Ivy's first wave of plant allies, Bakugo would surely underestimate the femme fatale and find himself trapped in a poison potent enough to defeat him.

8 Could: Dick Grayson Is Far Too Considerate To Take Down Bakugo Before He Got Warmed Up

katsuki bakugo in mha

One of Katsuki Bakugo's biggest advantages in combat comes as a result of how his Quirk works. By excreting a nitroglycerin-like ignition fluid from his sweat glands and storing it in his suit, Bakugo is able to increase the size of his explosions the more he sweats.  This means that the longer a fight lasts against Bakugo, the more powerful he becomes.

Dick Grayson may be more upbeat and traditionally "heroic" than his mentor, but the ruthlessness that the Batman brings into combat is something that Nightwing lacks. While this is good more often than not, it would be the main reason Grayson was defeated if he ever came face to face with Katsuki Bakugo.

7 Couldn't: Martian Manhunter Would Easily Phase Through Bakugo's Strongest Attacks

Martian Manhunter In Flames

Many fans will see Bakugo as the favorite in this battle because of Martian Manhunter's weakness to fire, but Bakugo is no Shoto Todoroki. The Explosion Murder God has spent a lifetime honing his explosive power to reduce the collateral damage and control the amount of heat let out by each blast.

His Quirk is as efficient as it is powerful, but the strength of his flame is tempered by this attempt at efficiency. Before Kacchan managed to figure out the Manhunter's weakness, John Jones would have his conscious mind in a vice grip.

6 Could: If Bakugo Could Separate Arthur Curry From His Ocean, Aquaman Would Be Trumped By The Explosion Murder God

Deku and Bakugo as kids in My Hero Academia.

Taking on Aquaman is never a good idea. The king of the seas is the Superman of the ocean. The only weakness Aquaman has is the fact that the majority of his strength is lost when he is separated from the ocean.

Bakugo may not be the most patient student at UA High, but he is smart enough to know when he is outmatched and what he needs to do to turn the tide of battle back in his favor. When faced with Aquaman, Bakugo would wisely separate himself from the ocean and trust in the fact that his AP shot would be enough to put Arthur Curry on the ground.

5 Couldn't: Bakugo's Quirk Allows Him To Move Quickly, But Tenya Lida & Barry Allen Would Both Run Laps Around The Explosion Murder God

Flash running

The ability to run faster than the speed of light is one of the most overpowered super abilities any character has ever been given. Few comic book speedsters ever reach this speed because of how truly overpowered it is.

The ability to move faster than your peers is almost always an advantage in combat. Tenya Lida and Katsuki Bakugo prove this point on a number of different occasions throughout MHA. The Flash takes this speed advantage to another level by moving faster than time itself. Even if Bakugo were able to beat the Flash in a fight, Barry could always just run back in time and try his hand at the Explosion Murder God a second time.

4 Could: Kacchan's Mobility & Ranged Abilities Would Make It Difficult For Giganta To Pin Him Down

Bakugo Hero Smiling

Giganta makes it onto Kacchan's radar thanks to her similarities to Mount Lady. My Hero Academia's resident giant is the No. 23 professional hero and a pain in the butt for all the villains striving for new heights.

Though Giganta has been shown to possess incredible strength in her giant form, Bakugo is not the easiest hero to pin down. By focusing on the blasts of his explosion Quirk, Bakugo is able to fly through the air in an unpredictable way that neither Giganta nor Mount Lady would be able to account for in their giant forms.

3 Couldn't: Bakugo's Explosive Quirk Would Be Picked Apart By The Wonder Woman Who Has Gone To War With Ares

wonder woman game

The Explosion Murder God may reign over the art of powerful and violent explosions, but Wonder Woman reigns over much more. The goddess born amongst the Amazonians is an incredibly powerful meta with the strength of the gods and the grit of a human.

Bakugo may surprise Wonder Woman, but if this fight lasted any longer than Kacchan's short fuse, Diana would have Bakugo questioning his claim to strength. Considering the work she has put in on the God of War himself, Wonder Woman would have no trouble going face to face with Bakugo.

2 Could: Killer Croc May Have The Advantage Against Bakugo Physically, But The Explosion Quirk Would Melt Straight Through His Reptilian Hide

bakugo world heroes mission

Killer Croc is a villain that earns more points thanks to his character design than his actual strength as a villain.

This isn't to say that Croc is weak, but the fact that he struggles to overcome Batman and his utility belt in combat means he would have a tough time figuring out Bakugo's explosive Quirk.

1 Couldn't: As The Stand-In For All Might Within The DC Universe, It Is Easy To See How Kal El Would Take Down Bakugo

Superman _ Man of Steel _ DC Comics

When a comparison between the world of My Hero Academia and DC Comics comes up, fans naturally lean into the similarities between Superman and All Might. Both serve their respective universe as a symbol of peace and hope with strong arms and unbreakable skin.

On top of this, All Might and Superman both serve as an inspiration for the up-and-coming heroes. In the case of Katsuki Bakugo, All Might stands as a symbol of strength that the explosive young hero aspires to become himself. It then goes without mentioning that All Might, and therefore Superman, are stronger than Bakugo.
