The enormously popular anime franchise Bakugan, which has spread into collectible trading games and toys, is poised to return to video games this November in Bakugan: Champions of Vestroia.

Released exclusive for the Nintendo Switch, the upcoming video game has players follow an all-new story as they gather the eponymous alien beasts to train and form their own teams. In RPG-oriented combat, players can take on opponents either solo or against their friends online, with an official announcement trailer teasing the fiery game play.

Bakugan was launched in 2007 with the anime series Bakugan Battle Brawlers, which inspired multiple follow-up anime series, a manga series, a trading card game, video games and a massive wave of tie-in merchandising, thrilling fans worldwide.

Champions of Vestroia is the first major video game in the franchise since 2011's Rise of the Resistance, following humans entering the strange dimension of Vestroia filled with Bakugan. After bonding to the creatures, the humans decide to use them for competitive battle to see who is the greatest fighting master of them all.

Developed by Spin Master, WayForward and Warner Bros. Games, Bakugan: Champions of Vestroia will be released for the Nintendo Switch on November 3.
