Commercial director Dan Trachtenberg has been tapped to helm Valencia, a psychological thriller from J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot and Paramount Insurge. According to TheWrap, Paramount Pictures has greenlit the long-gestating project for a fall start.

The microbudget film is mostly set in a basement, where a young woman finds herself sharing the space with a weird guy who tells her there was a nuclear apocalypse. Writers Josh Campbell and Matt Stuecken sold the project to Insurge in 2010, but the most recent draft was penned by Dan Casey.

Trachtenberg, who co-hosted The Totally Rad Show podcast for five years, was announced in early 2013 as the director of New Line's adaptation of Y: The Last Man, but that project seems to have stalled out.
