WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 1, Episode 7, “Battle Scars,” streaming now on Disney+.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch has seen Clone Force 99 travel the galaxy looking for work and raising the young enhanced clone, Omega. The most recent episode, "Battle Scars," saw the return of fan-favorite Captain Rex as he took his fellow clones on a mission to finally remove their inhibitor chips after the events of Order 66. Rex wasn't the only returning element to the episode, as the former clone commander led the group to the planet of Bracca.

Fans of Respawn Entertainment's Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order video game will be familiar with Bracca, as it is the first planet players start on. Cal Kestis, a former Jedi Padawan, hid out on Bracca after barely escaping Order 66. He worked there for five years and is still working there as a rigger at the start of the game. After using his Force abilities to save his friend, Cal is chased off-world by the Inquisitors and manages to escape thanks to the efforts of former Jedi Knight Cere Junda and pilot Greez Dritus.

A crashed starship in Star Wars The Bad Batch

With The Bad Batch taking place a short time after Order 66, it seems safe to assume that Cal is on Bracca when Clone Force 99 and Rex go to the planet. The episode had other callbacks to the game besides its location, with two Scrappers Guild members seen wearing the same type of poncho Cal sported in Fallen Order.

Wrecker, while trying to cross a treacherous drop, gets attacked by a dianoga, a squid-like creature that was first introduced in A New Hope when it attacked Luke as he, Han and Leia were trying to escape the Death Star trash compactor. Though it is a different creature than the Ibdis Maw that also lives on Bracca in Fallen Order, their similar designs and manner of eating waste (or stray people) suggests another connection between the game and the episode.

Cal landed on Bracca in an escape pod from a Venator-class Star Destroyer, where it's likely he joined the Scrapper Guild soon after in order to make a living and survive. It's also likely that he just recently joined the guild during the time of The Bad Batch, meaning an appearance from an adolescent Cal Kestis is a strong possibility. Additionally, Cal's Jedi Master, Jaro Tapal, sabotaged their Venator to mask their escape, leading to the ship crashing on Bracca. This means the chances of the Star Destroyer Clone Force 99 used to remove their inhibitor chips being the same one that Cal escaped from are pretty high too.

During the events of Fallen Order, Cal ends up exploring another crashed Venator ship on the planet Zeffo. He finds a shrine made up of clone helmets dedicated to the clones and comments how he wished people knew the truth about how the clones betrayed the Jedi. Cal's comment seems to suggest that he never learned about the inhibitor chips or had a good experience with clones following Order 66. Even so, that doesn't make it impossible for him to interact with Clone Force 99, especially considering how The Bad Batch has had no issue rewriting canon so far.

If Cal Kestis does appear in future episodes, it provides an opportunity for fans to see his early days on Bracca and how he will react to the Empire's arrival. With the Scrappers Guild members contacting the Empire about Hunter and his team at the end of "Battle Scars," there's a chance Cal will mistakenly believe the Empire is there for him instead of the clones.

With Cal's future already known to Star Wars fans, there's also a chance the only appearance fans will get is a passing cameo in order to preserve the timeline. Either way, the galaxy of Star Wars just got a bit more connected.

Created by Dave Filoni, Star Wars: The Bad Batch stars Dee Bradley Baker, Andrew Kishino and Ming-Na Wen. New episodes air Fridays on Disney+.
