Babylon 5 star Mira Furlan died on Jan. 20 at the age of 65.

Furlan's official Twitter account reported the news with a message from the actor herself. "I am not afraid," Furlan wrote. "In the meantime, let me close my eyes and sense the beauty around me."

"Mira was a good and kind woman, a stunningly talented performer, and a friend to everyone in the cast and crew of Babylon 5, and we are all devastated by the news," Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straczynski wrote on his personal Twitter account. "The cast members with whom she was especially close since the show’s end will need room to process this moment, so please be gentle if they are unresponsive for a time. We have been down this road too often, and it only gets harder."

Furlan portrayed the Minbari ambassador Satai Delenn on Babylon 5, appearing throughout the show's five seasons. She also played a recurring role on the ABC series Lost as Dr. Danielle Rousseau. Rousseau had been shipwrecked on the island where the events of Lost take place long before the passengers of  Oceanic Flight 815 crash-landed there. Furlan also provided the voice of Silver Sable on Spider-Man: The Animated Series.

Furlan is survived by her husband Goran Gajić and their son Marko.
