Hot Toys is turning one of the Marvel Universe's cutest heroes into a terrifying collectible. The toy company is making a life-sized version of the Guardians of the Galaxy's Baby Groot in a Venomized form.

The figure comes in two versions: A Groot with the symbiote crawling over his body, and a fully Venomized version. Vines twist around the tiny Guardian of the Galaxy's body, adorned with Venom's head. Several other figures based on the Maximum Venom series have been released, including Hasbro's Marvel Legends line.

Season 3 of Marvel's Spider-Man was retitled Maximum Venom, as Venom and several Symbiotes invaded Earth, possessing several of the Marvel Universe's heroes. Groot was among the possessed, as were his fellow members of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Ultimately, Spider-Man was able to create an Anti-Venom cure and injected Groot with it. Doctor Strange took Groot into space to cure the other Venomized Guardians at the end of the story arc.
