Ever since Disney acquired Star Wars, it became impossible not to compare between the Jedi with the Avengers (who as Marvel characters are also owned by Disney). Of course, there are already a lot of similarities between superheroes and Jedi. Both travel from one place to the next helping those in need. Both have supernatural powers. And both face off against the forces of darkness— sometimes falling to said darkness.

It is pretty easy to imagine how Marvel's Avengers would behave if they were Jedi with Force powers. But if the Avengers were ever given such an opportunity, then they would need to be careful, as quite a few of them could quite easily fall to the dark side of the Force.

10 Jedi: Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers)

Captain Marvel In Space Marvel Comics

Carol Danvers is one of the greatest heroes in the Marvel universe. She is a former Air Force pilot, the former Ms. Marvel, and the current— and arguably best— Captain Marvel. She has crossed the space ways and fought against almost every type of terrestrial and interstellar enemy there is.

Her travels through the galaxy as a superhero are already Jedi-like in nature. It would be a natural transition for her. Moreover, she would be happy being able to continue helping others.

9 Dark Side: Iron Man (Tony Stark)

Tony Stark. Iron Man

Tony Stark has demons. While his drinking and the “Demon in a Bottle” storyline might be the first examples that people point to when they think of these demons, the list is much longer.

Before he became Iron Man, Tony Stark was a war profiteer who built his entire identity around showcasing his intellect, making money from weapons manufacturing, and spending his blood money on trivialities. Since becoming a superhero, he has caused even more suffering. Tony’s impulsivity, anger management issues, recklessness, pride, and stubbornness make him so toxic, the Sith might even pass on him.

8 Jedi: Black Panther (T’Challa)

There are few people in all of Marvel more qualified to be a Jedi than T’Challa, the Black Panther. His role as King of Wakanda has given him the privilege of the greatest education, technology, and martial arts training available. However, it is his spiritual role which has best prepared him to be a Jedi.

After all, the Jedi live as monastic ascetics, cloistered in library temples or traveling through the galaxy to help others and balance the Force. As the priest of Bast, T’Challa is familiar with the spiritual lifestyle that Jedi have embraced to help them find harmony with the Force.

7 Dark Side: Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes)

Robbie Reyes. Ghost Rider

As he is possessed by the Spirit of Vengeance, Robbie Reyes has already pretty much fallen as low as one can. He made a pact with the devil and now rides around with the literal fires of Hell. He is already on the dark side.

Is Robbie a bad guy? No. But the Sith Lord Darth Revan was not that bad a guy, and he still aligned himself with dark powers and spread misery through the galaxy. It is hard to work for the devil and not lose oneself completely, and honestly, Mephisto is a far scarier dark lord than Emperor Palpatine ever managed to be.

6 Jedi: Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan)

Ever since Kamala Khan first became the new Ms. Marvel, fans have loved her. And one reason for this is the way she loves superheroes as a fan. She was a total fangirl, and then she was given the powers that allowed her to manifest her best self.

Kamala spreads joy and optimism, but she is still able to see the bad things out there, face them down, and not get dragged down by them. She is a natural leader and diplomat, making her a perfect candidate to become a Jedi Consular.

5 Dark Side: Scarlet Witch (Wanda Maximoff)

Wanda Maximoff

The Scarlet Witch is one of Marvel’s most powerful Avengers, and indeed, is one of the most powerful people in the Marvel Multiverse. As has been made all-too-clear in the recent WandaVision series, her reality-distorting powers can be misused, and she will not hesitate to destroy the lives of others to serve her own needs.

Time and again, Wanda has shown that she does not have the restraint to use her powers without hurting innocents. She has even reveled in the violence on occasion. Plus, the color scheme for her powers and costume seem like a natural fit to make her the next Sith Lady.

4 Jedi: Captain America (Steve Rogers)

Marvel’s paragon of virtue is Steve Rogers, the first and most well-known Captain America. He is brave, stoic, loyal, and embodies just about every heroic ideal that one can aspire to. In other words, everything a Jedi needs to be.

Steve has also proven that he can keep his head under fire and that nothing will cause him to compromise his values, sometimes even to a fault. It is not hard to imagine him in Jedi robes with a kyber-powered shield.

3 Dark Side: Hulk (Bruce Banner)

Immortal Hulk Flatline

When he transforms into the Hulk, Bruce Banner does not merely become stronger; he converts rage into muscle mass. His strength is literally powered by emotional volatility, a trait which might work well in a brawl on Earth, but undermines everything that the Jedi stand for.

Considering that Yoda famously claimed the way to the dark side was through fear and anger, it is almost certain that the first time Bruce Banner hulked out, he would be meaner than a rancor as he found new ways to combine gamma-powered might with the dark side of the Force.

2 Jedi: Falcon (Sam Wilson)

Falcon

As Steve Rogers’s partner, Sam Wilson fought alongside Captain America for years as the superhero Falcon. In fact, he eventually replaced Steve as the star-spangled hero, but his tenure as Captain America would not last more than a few years.

Sam is every bit as virtuous as Steve, and while he is a bit more down-to-earth, that (ironically) is what would make him such a great Jedi. He has moral convictions, but he is never apart from the people he works to protect.

1 Dark Side: Wolverine (Logan Howlett)

Wolverine X-Force Costume

As the comics have repeatedly reminded fans, Wolverine is the best at what he does— and what he does is kill people. A lot. Though, to be fair, he has grown quite a bit over the years, becoming a teacher, mentor, and natural leader who looks after others.

But for all that, Wolverine is still a feral berserker at his core, and at his most refined, he has merely tempered his killing into a finely-honed skillset to be drawn upon when the times call for it. Even when he is looking to be at peace, Wolverine seeks solace in violent, dirty, rundown places. He is basically a walking advertisement for the dark side, and would just as easily cut through Jedi with his adamantium claws as a red lightsaber.
