While it's not the fifth Avengers film in the traditional sense, Avengers: Quantum Encounter is currently playing on Disney Wish cruise ships. The mini-movie experience features the likes of Sam Wilson's Captain America, Carol Danvers' Captain Marvel and Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne as Ant-Man and The Wasp, all uniting to take on the returning threat of Ultron. All of these characters have actors reprising their roles from previous Marvel Cinematic Universe projects, including a surprise appearance from a hero whose origin story has still yet to conclude.

That's right! Joining the Avengers to help take down Ultron is Kamala Khan's Ms. Marvel, as played by Iman Vellani. And this is where Quantum Encounter appears to have jumped the gun a bit with regards to the MCU's newest Avenger. At the time of writing, the Ms. Marvel series has yet to conclude. At this point in the show, she has yet to even put together her iconic costume. In terms of the larger Marvel Universe narrative, Ms. Marvel is still a hero in the making.

And yet, here she is in Avengers: Quantum Encounter, weeks before her show has concluded. She is fully decked out in her final costume and fighting alongside Captain America. It would be a bit like if Quantum Encounter had started screening before the finale of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier had aired, similarly jumping the gun on the reveal of the new Captain America. Thankfully, that did not happen with that show, but it's a touch unfair that it should happen with Ms. Marvel.

Granted, in order to experience Avengers: Quantum Encounter in its entirety, one would need to book a cruise on a Disney Wish ship. And that is not likely to be the case for the majority of MCU fans. However, camera rips of the movie are already leaking online, showing Ms. Marvel in her entirety. It's just a shame that her reveal should be ruined before her story gets the chance to conclude.

Ms. Marvel is already proving to be one of the best of Marvel's Disney+ shows, and yet it's been done dirty by the way Disney handled its release. It got awkwardly sandwiched between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Thor: Love and Thunder and is now getting its own reveal spoiled in an unrelated cruise ship movie. It seems the world doesn't want to give Ms. Marvel the chance to shine.

Ultimately, Disney is such a large corporation with so many moving cogs that this was unavoidable. It's not like the Disney Wish cruise ships could go ahead without its premier Marvel cinematic experience on board, and similarly, Ms. Marvel's release schedule would have been decided on Disney+ months in advance. And yet, the thought can't be avoided that maybe, just maybe, Ms. Marvel deserved better than this.
