We've read about how Captain America will wear don a new costume in The Avengers, and even how the Hulk will sport a hairy chest, but now, thanks to the Licensing International Expo in Las Vegas, we get our first look at both. Well, sort of.
A Twitter user named ESQ captured a shot of a promotional poster for the Joss Whedon-directed film that shows an artist's rendition of the assembled Avengers: Chris Evans as Captain America, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and a motion-captured Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk.
The image obviously isn't a photo, and it's designed to attract licensees, so it may not be exactly what we'll see come May 2012. However, the poster gives us an idea of how Cap's look will be updated for the 21st century, and how the Green Goliath might differ from his previous on-screen appearances. I don't see any gamma-radiated chest hair, though; maybe Marvel thinks a hirsute Hulk won't sell Slurpees.
Update: We've swapped in a much better version of the licensing promo.
