This year, Jeremy Renner has proven to be the biggest bargain in Hollywood, thanks to his relatively low pay against the financial success of his films.

Forbes determined the best actor for the buck by comparing an actor's estimated earnings against their films' budget and worldwide box office. Renner placed first for returning an average $93.80 at the box office for every $1 he was paid. These numbers were based off the returns from Renner's last three major films: Wind River, Arrival, and Captain America: Civil War.

Other Marvel movie actors made the list, with Scarlett Johansson coming in third behind Emma Watson. Thanks to the success of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Age of Ultron, Johansson averaged $66.50 at the box office for each $1 she was paid.

Amy Adams comes in fourth, thanks to the return on Arrival. She brought back $46.10 for every $1 she was paid. Rounding out the top five is Chris Pratt, whose appearances in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 helped him bring back $34.40 at the box office for every $1 he earned.

Renner, Johansson, and Pratt will all next appear in 2018's Avengers: Infinity War, which should keep them in the running for next year.
