The Avengers take their new armored suits out for a spin in a preview for Avengers: Tech-On Avengers #2.

The previous issue saw the Avengers defeated by the Red Skull, who had gathered the dust of the destroyed Infinity Stones to give himself the power of a minor god. He does not have the power he would if he was wielding the Infinity Gauntlet, but he had enough to strip all of Earth's heroes - the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four and others - of their abilities. With the team weakened and about to be vanquished by the villain, Iron Man turned the tide by providing each hero with their own Iron Man-inspired suit, the preview picking up where the previous left off.

For some of the heroes, this is not the first time that Tony Stark has given them a tech boost. One of the most well-known examples of this was Peter Parker's "Iron Spider" armor, which played a major role in the Civil War event from 2006 and would later be adapted into the films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, such as Avengers: Infinity WarAvengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home. Recently, the new Daredevil, Elektra, even said to Tony in Daredevil #33 that the "way to [his] heart is to ask for an upgrade."

This sentai-inspired series made possible by a partnership between Marvel and Bandai Namco of Japan sees Tony again as the intellectual genius of the series (though Spider-Man would quip that he still isn't as smart as Reed Richards). The preview reveals that not only did Tony give the other Avengers armored suits, but that those suits could actually withstand and dissipate the power of the Infinity Shards, collecting it for use. The armors also have uniquely calibrated abilities to help each respective hero, such as Wolverine, who would still be in critical condition without his new suit.

This issue is the second part of the 6-issue limited series and sees the Avengers use their suits for the first time, giving them a chance against the Red Skull. According to the solicitation for the issue, readers can also expect to see more abilities from these armored suits, as well as an appearance by Venom.
