Earth's Mightiest Heroes are on track to meet Marvel's very first Sasquatch Sorcerer Supreme in Avengers #61.

CBR has an exclusive preview of Avengers #61, which comes from writer Jason Aaron (Punisher War Journal: Brother, Avengers Forever) and illustrator Ivan Fiorelli (Marauders, Venom: Lethal Protector). The issue finds Brandy, the current Starbrand, arriving in the middle of the Viking Age after chasing one of Mephisto's variants through time itself. Although she is quick to crash this era's Avengers in their battle against a massive, demonic kaiju, fans still get a glimpse at the team's lineup.

Alongside Thor and a whole host of other entirely new, era-appropriate heroes is Murkfoot, aka the Apeman Mystic. This Sasquatch Sorcerer Supreme looks exactly like what his name implies, replete with what looks like his very own Cloak of Levitation. Though Murkfoot is hardly the first Sasquatch to grace the Marvel Universe with their presence, he is the first to attain the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme in any timeline or reality.

Brandy, aka Starbrand, first appeared in the pages of 2020's Avengers #30 by Aaron and acclaimed artist Ed McGuinness as an infant whose mother was bonded to the cosmic force during labor. While her mother did not survive, Brandy was raised by Earth's Mightiest Heroes and flourished as both a person and a superhero. Brandy's upbringing hasn't been without its own issues, however, as she has grown from a newborn baby to a full-fledged young adult in a matter of months rather than years.

Despite any inherent concerns regarding her nature or powers, Brandy has proven herself to be an invaluable asset in the fight against Mephisto and his Council of Red. Following the reality-altering events of 2021's Heroes Reborn, the demon Mephisto has gathered together with countless versions of himself from across the Multiverse to launch an even grander scheme. So far, this has included launching various attacks against the Avengers fans know best, as well as their counterparts from across both their native timeline and throughout the Multiverse.

Avengers #61 is written by Jason Aaron, with art by Ivan Fiorelli, colors by David Curiel, design by Carlos Lao, and letters by VC's Cory Petit. Main cover art is by Javier Garrón and David Curiel, with variant cover arts courtesy of Humberto Ramos and Edgar Delgado. Avengers #61 goes on sale Oct. 19 from Marvel Comics.
