Avengers: Endgame is finally out, but those who can't rush out to see it right away will be stuck wondering about the fate of our favorite characters. Perhaps it's best to wait until things die down a bit to actually go see the movie. In the meantime, as people do these days, social media users have taken to their favorite platforms to share memes to lighten the load of worrying about those we love.

Most of us have probably seen those memes circulating around the Internet; those ones that hit you right in the feels. They remind us that half of the Avengers are now dust particles potentially floating around in oblivion, and we don't know if we'll ever see them again. We've rounded up some of the most devastating, heartbreaking memes and put them here just to ruin your day. But don't worry. Some are on the cusp of funny and sad, so you won't be completely emotionally drained when you're done reading this.

10 This Lord Of The Rings Themed Meme

The "One Does Not Simply" meme is one of the most popular memes circulating on the Internet, and this is proof it can apply to just about anything. This makes us think about all of the people of the world who would be affected by Thanos' decision. In Lord of the Rings, that would mean half the population of Mordor would have disappeared.

Sure, it's not the same timeline, but it really does make us think. In the MCU, one does not simply escape from Thanos without dealing with some type of consequence. Even those who remain on the planet are trying to figure out how to get their friends back before it's too late.

9 Captain America's Lack Of Teammates

This one really hits us in the gut. Poor Cap. There's nothing sadder than thinking about Captain America trying to sweep up what's left of his friends and teammates. Anyone can just picture the guy sitting there, with a pile of Bucky's dust, wondering if there's anything he could do to use his DNA from the pile.

Of course, we don't even know if there are piles of dust left. This is obviously just a humorous way to deal with the sadness that we feel on the inside and have been feeling since Infinity War came out.

8 A Reminder That Some Of Our Characters Are Now Dust

Another one that hits us right in the feels. It's a reminder that many of our favorite characters are now dust floating in oblivion (or wherever they ended up). It was pretty heartbreaking to watch all of those people turn into dust, as they all looked at their loved ones and realized what was happening.

This meme also reminds us of the fact that you can't really make action figures for the missing characters right now because we don't really know where they went or if they're going to come back at all. Action figures have actually caused spoilers in the past. Just take a look at our list of the 15 times this has happened before. It's a real epidemic, people.

7 There's Always A Simpsons Meme

Love him or hate him, this meme of Principal Skinner being wiped away by Thanos is relevant. Just like it happened to our favorite Avengers, this meme makes us think about what it would be like if Thanos' powers reached alternate cartoon universes that contained all of our favorite cartoons and shows.

What's sadder is that the dynamic between Principal Skinner and Superintendent Chalmers is so relatable to the dynamic between Tony Stark and Spider-Man. Tony Stark is an authority figure to Spider-Man, but Spider-Man is also irritating at times to Stark. Meanwhile, Chalmers is also highly irritated by Skinner, but also still has to act as an authority figure for him. This parallel is definite proof that The Simpsons can be applied and relate to just about anything.

6 A Grim Reminder Of Bucky And Steve's Sad Relationship

How many times is Steve Rogers going to have to watch his friend die or disappear? It seems like every time they're finally together, some kind of unforeseen circumstance just rips them apart again. They've watched each other die or almost die multiple times.

However, for Bucky's sake, the best part about having Captain America as a bestie is the fact that he will go to great lengths to save you. Even if it means he almost dies in the process. We'll have to see where it goes.

5 One Sad Tony Stark

Tony Stark Endgame meme

From the Avengers: Endgame trailer, we see that Tony Stark is in a risky situation. He's stuck in space, running out of food, water, and air. After seeing this in the trailer, a lot of fans became worried about Mr. Stark. Is this the end of Iron Man? How is Tony going to find a way out of this one? What will the Avengers do without their leading tech king?

These are all questions that have caused a significant amount of anxiety over the last little while, so we're sure you're ready for some answers.

4 The Shrek Version

As we mentioned above, one of the worst feelings is imagining people in other TV and film universes being subjected to the Thanos treatment. Who would survive? What makes this meme really sad is the fact that we know how much Donkey depends on and admires Shrek. What is he going to do if his best friend disappears?

Poor Donkey. After everything he's been through with finally getting Shrek to accept him as his best friend, this just takes the cake.

3 Avengers "Action Figures"

Unfortunately, this meme is all too real. There is nothing left of Groot, Spider-Man, Black Panther, most of the Guardians, Scarlet Witch, and many more. As we mentioned above, you can't really make an action figure for a character that we don't even know still exists in the MCU. That would just be a major spoiler.

All of these characters are just dust right now until we figure out what's going on. On a lighter note, these "action figures" are probably the cheapest ones available...

2 When He Didn't Go For The Head

Thor Endgame head meme

This image of Thor being so dark and broody seems like typical Thor. But it also makes us sad. Seeing any of our favorite Avengers makes us sad, really. We know the terrible, dark life that they experience throughout Avengers: Endgame.

It's hard to imagine how stressful life can be when you're part of the team tasked with saving the planet. Then, on top of all of that, your own friends are gone. Life is hard. But we're in the endgame now.

1 The Reality Of Being Dust

As dust, the Avengers could very likely just be vacuumed up. There's a kind of funny irony within this meme that a single vacuum cleaner could put an end to all of the disintegrated Avengers.

It's yet another example of using humor to cover up how sad we feel about this whole situation. But, as with the rest of these memes, it doesn't really change the fact that we are so worried about what's going to happen next.
