From Logan to Deadpool, Marvel Studios' upcoming superhero blockbuster Avengers: Infinity War is inspiring all sorts of pop-culture-inspired fan trailers and poster art. However, this WWE/Avengers mashup might be the most creative one yet.
Set to the audio from the initial Infinity War teaser trailer, we hear the speech Nick Fury gave in The Avengers being recited by various characters. Here, however, the footage cuts from John Cena to the Shield to Asuka, rather than the MCU's colorful heroes. Then, as Thanos' dialogue kicks in, we switch to shots of Superstars at their most vulnerable, including the Undertaker after his Wrestlemania loss to Brock Lesnar.
Speaking of Lesnar, the trailer appears to depict the Beast Incarnate as the Mad Titan, which is actually quite fitting. Still, it's not quite as fitting as Daniel Bryan being played up as Captain America, especially in light of his imminent return to the ring after a miraculous recovery from career-threatening injuries. Plus, we get to see Braun Strowman tipping over a tractor-trailer cab -- one of the (obviously exaggerated) feats of strength he displayed on a recent episode of Monday Night Raw.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Bettany, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chadwick Boseman, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Tom Hiddleston and Josh Brolin, among others. The film hits theaters April 27.
